The Gay Vegans

Live from Politicon 2016!

I am a politics geek.

As a blogger, I try to encourage as many people, especially activists of all types, to vote.

I am very grateful to those who organize Politicon to allow me in with press credentials. In my first couple of hours my mind is already overwhelmed and there are a couple of things I want to share:

From the wonderful people at the Voto Latino I learned about their amazing new app, VoterPal! Download it and you can register people to vote from your phone! Click here to get started!

I also met an incredibly inspiring group of women from Lady Parts Justice, your favorite rapid response messaging hub that uses comedy, pop culture and digital media to reignite the disenfranchised electorate. They want to engage and inform voters. From their literature: “Pulling no punches, LPJ gives voice and action to folks who care about access to abortion but aren’t sure how to fight back. The goal? To create a fun and active social community which works to expose and remove politicians who are reproductive health hazards.” Amazing! Check them out here.

Both of these groups are doing work to not only register new voters but also to engage them in learning about elected officials and giving their information that can be imperative in voting decisions.

More to come from Politicon 2016 here in Pasadena, California! Thank you for reading!
