The Gay Vegans

An Evening at Akbar on Sunset Boulevard

We don’t go out much.

Being in sobriety, I don’t care much for being in a bar where people are just drinking and there is really no purpose in being there.

With everything going on against LGBTQ+ communities, we have wanted to be more part of the community.

Mike had seen Akbar on his socials, it seemed like a great place, kind of like a community hangout.

When he told me they were having a Sunday Tea Dance, playing Disco music, I was in.

We had such a good time. So many nice people, many there just meeting friends for a drink and perhaps a dance.

We spent a long time on the dance floor. It was blissful. For me, there’s nothing like dancing to Disco music with the love of your life.

If you’re in the LA area, whehter you live here or are visiting, I recommend some dancing at Akbar. They also have a bunch of different community events, like game nights.

Their website is https://www.akbarsilverlake.com/

Go vegan. Vote. Be kind.
